Queensland Championships NOL Bulletin 4.
On line entry and full information is now available is available at www.qoa.asn.au/champs Entry can be made on-line and payment sent by cheques if the transfer of money on the net is a concern to you.
Of the entries processed so far almost half are from elite athletes with the vast majority in M21E. So far we have no confirmed entries for the Australian or New Zealand teams. The organisers are aiming to identify all Elite runners by state and (where appropriate) by country, with a separate set of results for the Australia/NZ Challenge. Please note that start times for elite races and the course structures have been set to maximise the spectator appeal of the races, for those who rarely come into contact with the elite competition.
During this week I expect to update the course lengths with full details of climb as the courses are almost finalised.
The model map, Charlie Hart Creek west of Hunter’s Hut Road is now on the web under “location/maps and terrain”. Competitors will be allowed to run on this map but must recognise that all of the areas to the east of the Hunter’s Hut Road will be embargoed.
On the Saturday night there will be a Trivia Night in Maryborough. Quiz master is the star of TV Quiz programmes – Trevor Sauer. A great social evening is promised which will include presentations to the Elite senior and junior winners of the Middle Distance Championships that form part of Day 1.
A reminder that the Maryborough Scouts are supplying the catering on both days and the web site shows us that there will be a range of foods to remove the need for you to look elsewhere on Saturday (before and/or after your race) or Sunday (after your race).
This will be my last Bulletin for some weeks as I will be heading to JWOC in Lithuania next Monday. If you have any queries in my absence e-mail Dane Cavanagh at omaster@bigpond.net.au and he will contact the relevant member of the organising team to answer your query.
