Bendigo Ironman
Map: New Saint Mungo. Using parts not visited in the 2006 Easter Prologue.
Format: Four 2k sprint races. Chasing start based on handicaps. Target is a blanket finish in each race. One easy, one medium and two harder navigation races.
First start at 12.30. Briefing at 12.20.

That will ensure pre-marked maps and a handicap. Handicaps allocated on the day will be deadly.

Maxi 3 Hour Orienteering (Team Event), Whroo
Pre-marked maps will be provided to all who enter by Tuesday August 1st.
Event Format This is the 16th annual Maxi which now incorporates the Inter School Challenge. Teams of 2-5 members visit as many controls as possible in the time available. Teams must stay together to visit as many controls as possible in the 3 hours. Controls are worth varying points, taking into account difficulty of navigation and distance travelled.
Map and Area Whroo: 1:15.000, 5 metre contours, full colour. First used in 2001 for the Victorian Championships. Whroo presents a diverse set of technical challenges, most of the forest is open and easy to move through, but the complicated gully/spur terrain offers ample scope for the feet to move faster than the brain. Pockets of old gold workings, which require close attention to map detail, complement the other challenges.
